Payroll Mentoring

Payroll professional next GEN - learn and grow together

Why Payroll Mentoring?

In the past, the young learned from the old, the new from the experienced. But in today’s skills shortage environment, experienced in-house mentors are rare or simply too busy.

For everyone, regardless of age or experience, it is a relief to have a trusted and experienced advisor at their side to provide support in challenging situations. This is especially true when it comes to taking on a leadership role in payroll, when there are misunderstandings or a lack of appreciation in your own area of the company, or even when you are thinking about starting your own payroll business.

Coach vs. Mentor - what is the difference?

Payroll Mentoring is customized support and guidance from experienced mentors. It is a partnership relationship designed to expand your knowledge, strengthen your professional skills, and help you achieve your payroll career goals.

Unlike coaching, where the coachee develops their own path to a solution through specific questions from the coach, in mentoring the mentor actively shares their experience and gives specific advice on how to solve the mentee’s problem.

Mentoring is more appropriate than coaching in the following situations:

  • Long-term development: Mentoring is better suited to the holistic and long-term personal and professional development of an individual.

  • Career planning and development: When it comes to career planning and development, mentoring is often more effective. Mentors can use their experience and industry knowledge to help mentees navigate their career paths.
  • Knowledge and experience transfer: Mentoring is ideal for passing on specific expertise and experience from experienced employees to younger or less experienced colleagues.

Our Mentors - Experience counts!

Only those who have been or are payroll administrators can truly understand the unique challenges of the field. Our field requires a high degree of responsibility, accuracy, legal certainty, and the ability to work under pressure. Therefore, payroll mentors should always be consultants with extensive payroll experience.

The Payroll Academy’s Payroll Mentoring Program offers you the opportunity to learn directly from experienced payroll professionals and systematically develop your skills.
